Thoughts, please

Any readers enjoying Stephen King's "N." (the new story being presented in daily episodes)? If so, I'd love to hear your thoughts on it -- leave 'em in the comments, please.

If you haven't yet started watching, it's not too late. Episodes will be appearing each week day through the end of August, so you can easily catch up. Watch "N." here.

Okay, I'll start.

I'm pleasantly surprised by how much I'm enjoying it. At first, I kinda thought it would be corny, especially when you see the thing in the stones. But I don't find it hokey at all.

I also think it has good pacing, and the episodes are perfectly paced. That said, I wish I could get each installment faster, since I find myself having to re-watch some episodes to remind myself of certain things.

And, did anyone notice that in Episode 13 (if not 13, then 12), the guy went around and touched each stone, touching EIGHT stones, but I thought only seven were visible to the naked eye (eight through the camera). If this is so, is this a mistake (and if so, my mistake or King's)? Am I going crazy? How did he touch eight if only seven were there? Maybe this will be explained more in future episodes?

AAAHHH. It's making my brain hurt.

Once all of the episodes appear I think I'm going to have to watch them all again, straight through.

Okay, I'm done now :)

Tell me truly: is it creepy? And be honest to the girl who can't watch scary things and will have nightmares if things get too creepy. I watched almost through episode 4 when it showed the beasts on those stone things or whatever.

I'll admit it: I'm a weenie. But please be honest so this weenie doesn't get nightmares. :-)

As of now, it's only *slightly* creepy ... definitely a psychological creepy, but, knowing King, it could be creepier. (That's not to say I'm not enjoying it, however.)

At this point the story could go a few different ways, so the creepiness factor will depend on where he takes it.

Now that it's over, what did you think? I didn't think it felt like a whole story. Neither of the two threads -- the Beast from Beyond and the OCD-contagion -- felt really fleshed out. Nice concept, but I wish there had been more.

Jenny, I agree with you. The story had promise, but I wish there had been a little more...oomph, or something. Not sure exactly *what* it was that I'd like to have been different about it, but it was lacking in some way. I liked that the story ended kinda "dum dum DUM" but it wasn't dramatic enough for my tastes.
